We have long established relationships, with consumers, retailers, councils, schools and commercial customers who continue to purchase Biobags from us with confidence and many have done so for many years.

Manufacturing

We manufacture 100% compostable liners, made out of corn starch and certified as BS EN 13432:2000. Some plastic bags are sold as biodegradable, but this does not mean they will break down quickly enough during the recycling process and will contaminate the food waste, so only use bags which carry the correct logos.

Gardening Delights® Technical Information

Gardening Delights biobags have a gusseted base meaning they are reinforced to provide extra strength at the bottom of the bag. This helps prevent the bag braking when full of food waste, but does not affect the overall capacity of the bag. These Biobags are made from compostable bioplastic materials based on corn starch, other plant extracts and vegetable oils meaning they are 100% biodegradable and compostable. These materials are not only degradable, but certified biodegradable and compostable. The materials are easily compostable and biodegradable to water, CO2 and residual organic carbon (compost), leaving no harmful residues. All of our liners conform to BS EN 13432 standard and carry the European standard seedling logo. Suitable for council waste collection schemes and home composting.

The physical and mechanical properties of these materials are similar with conventional plastic. However there are some major differences:

  • They are compostable and biodegradable
  • They are safe barriers for bacteria and virus
  • They can be designed with a high or low water vapour transmission rate (WVTR) depending on intended application of the products

We range the following Food Waste Bags which will cover all Council Kerbside collections, which ranges from 5 Litre all the way through to 240 Litre Wheelie Bin Size Food Waste Biobags.

Quality Assurance

All our production facilities operate with ISO9001 and ISO14001 audited and certified procedures. We operate and work with many factories around the World, you can be certain that our products have been made in facilities which standards and regulations on safety, employment and the environment.

We seek and establish similar levels of performance, business ethics and communication in all our suppliers, including our hauliers.

Delivery and Service information

All orders from stock are shipped next day. We pride ourselves on fast and reliable deliveries. We stock vast amounts of stock here in the UK with regular replenishments across all food waste bag sizes. We can produce, ship and deliver bulk bespoke printed orders within 12 weeks from receipt of order.

Storage

Compostable liners should be stored in a cool dry environment. Liners will not biodegrade in storage, biodegradation will only be initiated in a compost environment in the presence of micro-organisms, humidity and warmth. However, over time, the material may lose some of its mechanical properties and weaken.

To ensure optimum performance we would recommend purchasing no more than you would expect to use over a 12-month period.
